Auf Wiedersehen!
Well the time has come to bid our loyal audience farewell… Our two and a half months here at igus® in Köln are nearly at an end with our last day at work this week. We thought we would spare you all the sappy goodbyes and instead make a list of our favorite things from this summer:
- Awesome co-workers at igus®
- Experiencing the thrill of the EM 2008
- Working on creating the igus® mobile website
- Dinner and 4th of July at Frank’s house
- RheinKultur music festival (with Ben Folds!)
- Everything about Switzerland (canyoning, rafting, biking, chocolate, and cheese)
- Pizza from Rewe
- Icecream from the igus® cafeteria (especially Joghurt Fresh and the cappuccino Magnum bars)
- Living on Friesenstrasse and hearing rowdy people until 5am on Fridays
- The Rhein River
- The Dom
- The view of the city of Dresden
- Subway Sub des Tages
- Hoffbrau Haus and the Englischer Garten in Munich
- German mustard (senf)
- Kölsch
The notorious Köln Dom, a sight we will certainly miss seeing everyday on our drive home from work.
The Future...
So what lays ahead for the igus® interns you may ask? Well, Nate and Brandon are going to go to an FC Köln game on Saturday with some co-workers to have one last European soccer experience. After that, they will travel together with Nate’s sister to Freiburg, in the Black Forest of Southwestern Germany. From there, Brandon will go to relax on the beach in Croatia and Nate will take a brief trip to the UK to study at The University of Oxford. Then it is back to the 'ole U.S.A. to begin Senior year at TCU. Don’t even think about asking us what will happen after that!
We want to express our gratitude to all the people involved in making this summer a reality. Special thanks to Jane Mackay, Jörg Botor, and Frank Blase for helping us to be able to come to work for igus® this summer. Thanks to Joschi, Björn, and Tiina from the E-Media team for keeping us busy and showing us a great time in Köln. We will miss you guys!
