A foosball table in which your opponent is a computer. The table demonstrates the potential of precise automation and control engineering.
A high-speed camera determines the position of the ball and helps the computer decide how best to move the foosball players.
Tests based on a standard, commercial soccer table quickly showed the required dynamics and accuracy could not be attained with standard bearings. DryLin® R (FJUM-01) linear bearings fulfilled both these two criteria and additionally have an extremely low coefficient of friction, high wear resistance and are maintenance-free. The bearings can also cope with both rotating and oscillating motion.
A DryLin® screw-driven slide table and igubal® spherical bearings were also used in the foosball table.
igubal® maintenance-free spherical bearings were also used
