In this version special plastic glide shoes are mounted on the side of the chain link every 1,000 to 2,000 mm. The function of these guide elements resembles the leeboards used on sail boats. Some of these leeboards are conceived in such a way that in contact with firm ground they pivot upward and enable the continuation of the travel. Similarly the glide shoes in AUTOGLIDE go up and down, each according to its position as lower run or upper run of the chain. They provide the precise lateral guidance and a smooth glide of the E-Chain®. The glide shoes are mounted on every 20th chain link from the fixed end of the e-chain®. Feed point = end of travel Chain length = S + K
Number of glide shoes = (chain length [m] - 4 m)/0.92 m
Please note: In addition to the outer width of the chain, there are 31 mm for the width of the two gliding elements!
* The required clearance height is HF = H + 25 mm (at 1.5 kg/m additional load), this should be observed for all types of applications. Please consult igus® if space is particurlarly restricted.
** The calculated length corresponds to the chain length without mounting brackets.

Interior separations in many versions
5 mounting bracket options
Option 1: Separators
Option 2: Full-width shelves
Option 3: lower shelves
Separators are an option to partition the interior of the snap-open chain (Series 2400/2500). Separators with wide base or spacers can be used, if a wide gap should be kept between the dividers. Both are predominantly used in side-mounted chains.
Full width shelf
This option exists for the chains in the series 2400/2500. It makes sense when using multiple thin cables with similar or equal diameters. These versions fill the entire inner width of the chain.
This possibility exists for the snap-open chains of the 2400/2500 types. It is reasonable when using many cables with different diameters. Continuous shelving from one side of chain to the other as well as partial divisions in individual blocks can be implemented.

Aluminum "Super Trough"- the igus® standard
The Aluminum "SuperTrough" is a modular guide trough system for long travels (when E-Chains® glide on themselves, as per sketch). Aluminum "SuperTrough" is available in low cost "basic versions" and can be upgraded for heavy duty applications. This universal usage makes it the igus® recommended new standard trough system.
